Hornets Game
Nine lucky families recieved tickets to attend the Hornets game on Friday, January 27th. Thanks to Mr. Ken Brass for making this possible. GO HORNETS!Parent Portal Opened
Romeville Elementary School is proud to announce the "Parent Portal for Powerschool" is now OPEN. This will allow parents and students access to their grades, attendance, and more at their fingertips. On January 25th,three help sessions was open to parents to assist with creating their account. If anyone needs further assistance or needs help with setting up their account, please contact the school.
Prime Time #3
On January 24th, RES was excited to host Prime Time 3. This event was sponsored by Zen-Noh Grain. A representative from the St. James Parish Library was available for families to sign up for a library card. Thanks to everyone for making Prime Time 3 successful.
Prime Time #2
On January 17th, RES hosted the second Prime Time event. Parents and students were treated to a nice meal sponsored by St. James Stevedoring. Afterwards, the story teller and scholar read, Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse and The Mountain that Loved a Bird. The night concluded with door prizes. Thanks to St. James Stevedoring, Zapps, Mr. Nassar, Prime Time staff and RES staff for making this a successful night.
Semester "No Striker" Event
On January 13th, nine students were treated to lunch at McDonalds. These students were selected based on their outstanding behavior. Fantastic job!
Quarter 2 Awards
On January 11th, Romeville Elementary honored students for academics and behavior in an assembly. Students received honor roll certificates and pencils. Some students received PBIS awards for showing wonderful behavior the first semester. Great job students!
Prime Time #1
On January 10th, Romeville Elementary School hosted the first Prime Time Night. This grant is part of the Louisiana Endowment for the Arts and Humanities. The grant provides transportation for families and teaches families how to read books to their student. Thanks to Zapps, MOTIVA, and Mr. George Nassar, Jr for sponsoring the first night. This included: a meal, goodie items in their family bag, door prizes, and a gift for the family basket. The interactive story of The Lion and the Mouse was wonderful to begin the session. Thanks again and looking forward to a successful program.
Prime Time
Romeville Elementary School has received the Prime Time grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Arts and Humanities. Fifty families will be able to take part in this wonderful experience. The first Prime Time session will begin on January 10th. Thanks to everyone involved in making this possible. See you at Prime Time!
Santa Visits RES
On December 21st, Santa took time from his busy schedule to visit the boys and girls at Romeville Elementary School. Thanks to Mr. Robert Logan and Zen-Noh Grain for making this possible. Merry Christmas!
Warm Hands - Warm Hearts Project
On December 21st, the Town of Lutcher Warm Hands - Warm Hearts Project delivered coats for several students at Romeville Elementary School. Thanks to Ms. Darlene Riley, alderman and Ms. Ericka Usand, chairperson for this wonderful project.
Students Enjoyed Spacewalk
On December 21st, many students are RES enjoyed time in a spacewalk. The criteria for the spacewalk was growth in reading and math on the mid-year MAP scores. We are very proud of all of our students.
Winter Wonderland
On December 20th, Romeville Elementary School celebrated Christmas with a Winter Wonderland. Everyone had a great time completing Christmas activities. Thanks to all the community members, families, faculty and staff that helped make this successful.
RES Students Visits Audubon Zoo
Thanks to the Capital One Grant, students at Romeville Elementary School visited the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans on December 15th. Everyone had a fantastic time.
Ronald McDonald Visits RES
Ronald McDonald visited RES on December 5th to deliver a very important message on friendship. He shared tips for dealing with bullying as he took the school through "Adventures of Friendship."
Happy Thanksgiving
On Thursday, November 17th, parents were invited to eat Thanksgiving dinner with their child. Thanks for making this a wonderful lunch. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Students return to school on Monday, November 28th.
Willy Wise Visits RES
With the help of OxyChem, Willy Wise came to visit RES on November 11th. During their visit, they gave a wonderful presentation on reviewing the procedures for shelter and place. Everyone enjoyed the presentation. Thanks OxyChem!
LHS Cheerleaders Visits RES
On October 27th, the Lutcher High School cheerleaders came to Romeville Elementary to not only showcase their physical talents but their mental talents as well. The cheerleaders went to different classes and read books to the students. All students will take an AR quiz. Thanks for your time in support of education.
BAGS Program
Romeville Elementary is excited to announce the introduction of the BAGS Program. The BAGS, Bringing Academic Gains to Students, will help all student achieve to their fulliest potention. With the help of MOTIVA, parents, and teachers this program will be a success. Students receive activities and have one week to complete the activites. Thanks for the continued support in keeping education a priority.
MOTIVA Helps RES
On October 18th, employees from MOTIVA gave up their time and offered their talents to help Romeville Elementary in several projects. Thanks all the men and women who had volunteered their services. Together we will make a difference.
Opening of Gym
Romeville Elementary has long awaited for the opportunity to play in a gym again. Several years ago, Hurricane Gustav took the gym with six classrooms. On October 12th, we were able to have a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the gym.
AG Day
On October 13th, the first and second grade students took a trip to the Fast Food Farm for Ag Day. While there, they learned where food comes from and the process.
Pumpkin Patch
Romeville Elementary students were able to enjoy a trip on October 7th to the Welcome Center in Gramercy for the Lion's Club Pumpkin Patch. Students were able to pick a pumkpkin, enjoy a hayride, and learn facts about our community in the museum. Thanks Lion Club for all that you do for our community.
4th Grade Visits Aquarium of Americas
Romeville Elementary School received a grant entitled "Audubon Riverworks." This grant allowed the 4th graders to visit the Aquarium of Americas in New Orleans on September 15. While there, St. James Stevedoring gave a presentation to the students. Joining in the fun, were the 4th grades from Paulina Elementary. Thanks to Riverworks Discovery and St. James Stevedoring for providing such a wonderful experience.
